As the daughter of a Pastor (PKs, where y'all at?!), my faith has always been a big part of my life. After going off to college and getting a taste of the crazy life, I gave my life to Christ in January 2008 and I haven't been the same since! My relationship with Jesus has grown every year and I continue to fall in love with His Word and teachings every day! No matter what new shenanigans I think up, I come to pray and ask God, "Whatcha think about this, Lord?" and patiently wait for nudges I like to call "God Whispers" to guide me in any life decision. I know deep in my heart that He loves me, care for me and knows the number of hairs on my head - that's love, y'all!

Sharing how faith guides me
Scripture I'm devouring this month:
Good Day friends!
Hope all is well with you and your families! I'm in the midst of tax season and for once in my life, feeling very joyful about it! I've been consistently journaling in my "Anchored" journal and it's brought immense joy, gratitude and intention into my mornings. I may miss a day, but it doesn't upset me or make me feel less than, it's just, "Oh, I didn't journal yesterday" and I continue on for the day, which is growth for my type A mind that wants to check the box everyday!
This month, I'm leaning into the words of Jesus:
"Open your heart and consider my words. Watch out that you do not mistake your opinions for revelation-light! If your spirit burns with light, fully illuminated with no trace of darkness, you will be a shining lamp, reflecting rays of truth by the way you live. " Luke 11:35-36
This scripture reminds me of two of the yogic yamas/niyamas, 'Satya" and "Tapas" the first which translates to "truth" and the second translates to self-discipline, inner fire. In this scripture, Jesus is reminding us to not mistake our opinion for a divine message from Him. It makes me think about when people say "God said" and God ain't told me nothing and I'm in personal relationship with him (yes, I'm giggling as I write this"). So don't mistake your personal opinions, reflections and thoughts for a divine revelation! I'm just going to live life rooted in Christ and allow THAT to be truth of God working in my life, speaking to me, and allowing me to be light to others. Self-discipline and the Holy Spirit assists me every single moment with the practice of living truthfully and being a light in this world!
I'm curious - What scriptures are leading you through the days/weeks in this season?! Is "red letter living" in the gospels assisting you on your walk with Christ?!
